Comic actor Eddie Murphy » has been
jammed with a $50 million lawsuit in Los
Angeles by a young comic Brando Murphy »
who claims the veteran is determined to ruin
his comedy career. As we earlier reported » ,
Brando believe Eddie is telling everyone that he
[Brando] claims Eddie is his father.
According to latest legal documents obtained
by gossip site TMZ yesterday, last name
Murphy is taking center stage in the new
lawsuit drama. Brando ’s $50 million
defamation lawsuit against Eddie apparently
stems from an ‘absurd vanity’.
Brando who maintains that he has never tried
to pass himself as Eddie Murphy ’s son – to
which many say Eddie is claiming – explained
that, "The name Murphy is of Irish decent and
not exclusive to Eddie Murphy, a black man of
African Ancestry and/or a purported African
American." So, what’s the big deal?
Although he denies assuming the identity of
Eddie’s son, Brando's claim reportedly did not
touch on the most glaring contradiction to his
argument, the fact that he took part in
the Sons of Comedy » tour with Richard
Pryor » ‘s son. An event aimed at featuring
the sons of iconic comedians , Eddie
Murphy » and Richard Pryor . But Brando took
part anyway – and he now claims – he’s not
Eddie’s son!
However, in his lawsuit, the young comic also
claims that one of Eddie’s people threatened
to have him killed. It's likely Team Eddie isn’t
too worried about Brando or his ‘lame’ lawsuit.
Eddie’s lawyer, Marty Singer allegedly told
TMZ, "This is an absolutely ridiculous lawsuit,
and we are confident it will be immediately
dismissed by the court."
